My friend and I had the great pleasure of spending a week at the Your Ad tennis camp during the summer of 2003. We had a great time playing tennis and visiting in the Czech Republic. Anyone wishing to go should have no reservations about traveling there. Transportation between Prague and Pisek was no trouble. It was arranged through the camp. The hotel in Pisek was clean and comfortable. All meals were included. The food was great everywhere. It was a refreshing change from the fast food mentality of the US.

Most important, the tennis instruction was excellent. I’ve been to two other camps in the US and Canada. The Czech instructors were better able to communicate their knowledge to my level. They were very good at explaining the bio-mechanics of each shot. The talent level of the instruction was far superior to any other camp or club I’ve received lessons at.

The camp was kind enough to arrange a mid-week break from tennis. We visited an incredible castle in the south of the country. Other off times we spent biking or strolling through the town or down one of several walking/biking paths. We preferred the evenings to ourselves but we did participate in bowling one evening.

A big plus is the customer service attitude of the staff. Whatever we asked they made a genuine attempt to accommodate. Seeing that kind of positive attitude goes a long way in making any vacation special. I'm looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Want to have great holiday and great tennis? Your ad tennis academy in Pisek is the place for you. Good facilities, professional coaching and interesting people to play with from different countries. For example last summer there where people from Ireland, Holland, Kosovo and USA. We also spent a lot of time together "off-tennis", eating out, bowling, swimming, cycling, having barbecue and even making excursions. I was proud to be the first Finn and even first Scandinavian attending Your Ad Academy's tennis camp. I am pretty sure that I 'll be there also next summer.

Where to start? YourAd Tennis Academy in Pisek has been an incredible experience. I had tried many programs all over the U.S. (including Saddlebrook resort and the world-renowned Hopman Tennis Academy) before deciding to attend the YATA in my home country. It has been the single best thing for my tennis game and also has been my most enjoyable summer experience to date.

  1. Tennis The level, expertise, and experience of all the coaches is phenomenal. They have the skills and the teaching methodology to improve your (of anyone’s for that matter) game. Coach Pavel’s favorite saying is that “you can teach any wooden [lacking in talent] person how to play tennis if you work hard enough with him or her.” This mentality applies to all of the coaches at YATA – their passion for the game is unsurpassed. The level and number of players at the camp is also fantastic, ranging from beginning to professional with many matches for everyone in-between. The staff members are also proficient in English (one of whom actually teaches English in his spare time) and can convey their teaching ideas and concepts to you in a very clear and understandable way. The well-maintained red-clay courts (in addition to the two indoor courts) slow the game down, enabling you to focus on point construction and shot production. The end of the session closes with a club tennis tournament. For more advanced players, Czech national tournaments are available around the area of Pisek. Personally, my game improved drastically at the YATA.
  2. Pisek, the staff, and my stay Unbelievable. Planned trips. Outings to Prague. Incredibly flexible schedules. Castle tours. Day-trips. The beautiful city of Pisek. Late-night bowling runs. Huge lunches. These are just some of the characteristics of a session at the YATA (only when you’re not playing tennis of course!). Organization is very tight for the trips and excursions themselves, yet schedule flexibility of the YATA staff is incredible. Each evening is planned to give you a wide taste and variety of Czech and other foreign foods at various cultural spots (a.k.a. pubs with character) and traditional restaurants. Meals are planned, recommended, and a lot of fun – but not mandatory. Accommodations are quite nice, ranging from small inns and hotels to inexpensive (yet nice) apartments for short-term rent. Everyday transportation to the tennis facilities is no problem – even if you were to be on the other side of town. No matter what the day’s or night’s activity, there is sure to be a lot of fun and adventure.

Pisek is a very beautiful and care-free city, and the YATA is the perfect tennis academy. I will for sure be returning for my third summer at the YATA, and have this time decided to bring my brother along for the cultural and tennis benefits.
